Teacher TET Mandatory: Important for All WB Teachers, A Complete Guide to Filling the Google Form

Teacher TET Mandatory: Following a landmark Supreme Court ruling, passing the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) has been made mandatory for all in-service teachers in the state. In response to this verdict, the Primary Education Board has initiated the process of collecting data on currently employed teachers. All DPSCs (District Primary School Council) have been instructed to submit a list of teachers who have not yet passed the TET within the next 15 days. This data collection is primarily being conducted through a Google Form, which is being sent to teachers from the SI (Sub-Inspector of Schools) office of each circle.
This move has raised many questions among teachers regarding the form-filling process. In this post, we will discuss each step of filling out this Google Form and the reasons behind this initiative in detail.
Why Is This Data Being Collected?
After the Supreme Court’s directive, the state education department wants to get a clear picture of exactly how many teachers are currently employed without having passed the TET. Only after obtaining this data will the state government decide on its next course of action. The government will have two options: either file a review petition in the Supreme Court requesting an exception to this rule or proceed with implementing the judgment dated September 1, 2025. The future of the teachers depends on the decision made based on this data.
How to Fill Out the Form?
Different circles have created their own Google Forms for teachers, but the core content of all forms is nearly identical. Keep the following points in mind while filling out the form:
- Personal Information: Fill in the teacher’s name (in capital letters), designation (Head Teacher/TIC or Assistant Teacher), and date of birth correctly.
- Service Details: You must enter your Employment ID (available on the Bangla Shiksha Portal), your first date of joining, and your date of retirement.
- Educational Qualifications: Provide accurate details of your highest academic qualification (Secondary, Higher Secondary, Graduation) and training details (D.El.Ed, PTTI, B.Ed). There is a separate option for those who have upgraded their Higher Secondary qualification through NIOS.
The Most Crucial Section of the Form
The most critical part of the form is the ‘TET Qualify’ section. Here, you must select either ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.
- Those who have not passed the TET should select ‘No’. This form is primarily designed to collect their information.
- If you have passed the TET, you must select ‘Yes’ and then mention the year of passing. In this context, remember that for the 2014 TET, the year of passing mentioned on the certificate is 2016, so provide information accordingly.
- Exempted Category: If you fall under any special category, select ‘Yes’; otherwise, choose ‘No’.
- Remarks: If you passed the TET after joining the service (e.g., joined in 2006 and passed TET in 2014), mention that information here.
After correctly filling in all the information, click the ‘Submit’ button to submit your form. This process is extremely important, so refrain from providing any incorrect information. This data will play a significant role in determining the future of teachers.
