The 32000 Teacher Recruitment Case is Listed for Hearing Again, What is the Future of the Case?

32000 Teacher Recruitment Case: The case of the cancellation of 32,000 primary teachers’ jobs is once again the center of discussion in the Calcutta High Court.

This case of cancellation of primary teacher jobs has been listed for hearing again. The hearing of this case will be held in the division bench of Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty and Justice Ritabrata Kumar Mishra. In this report, we will discuss in detail the current situation of the case, the main controversy, and the possible observations of the court.

Current Status of the Case

Thousands of job aspirants and working teachers are looking forward to this case.

Let’s take a look at the latest updates of the case:

  • Case Number: MAT 873 of 2023
  • Next Hearing Date: September 22, 2025
  • Court: Calcutta High Court, Division Bench
  • Judges: Honorable Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty and Honorable Justice Ritabrata Kumar Mishra
  • Main Applicant: West Bengal Board of Primary Education
  • Respondent: Priyanka Naskar

Many new applications have been added to this case, which has made the case even more complicated.

The Core Issue of the Case

At the center of this case is the 2014 Primary TET examination and the recruitment process based on it.

Advocate Bikas Ranjan Bhattacharya, on behalf of the petitioners, has claimed that the TET examination and the recruitment process are interlinked. He has alleged corruption in the TET examination. On the other hand, the lawyers of the affected teachers are repeatedly trying to establish that the TET and the recruitment process are two separate issues. According to them, if there is any problem in the recruitment process, it should be looked at separately, and the entire panel should not be canceled.

Court’s Observation and Possible Solution

According to the court’s observation, the judges are looking for a speedy and permanent solution to this case.

They seem to be more interested in finding a middle ground rather than just canceling the panel. The judges are trying to give a neutral verdict protecting the interests of both parties so that the job aspirants get justice and the jobs of the working teachers are also secured. According to the judges, canceling the entire panel cannot be a solution, as was seen in the case of 26,000 SSC jobs, where no party benefited. Therefore, if corruption is proven in a specific area of the recruitment process, a possibility has arisen to cancel only that part and retain the jobs of the rest.

This case is now at a crucial juncture. The court’s verdict in the coming days will determine the future of 32,000 teachers.
