WBCHSE Update: Higher Secondary Third Semester Exam OMR Sheet Now Online!

WBCHSE Update: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has introduced a major change in the rules for the Higher Secondary Examination. In the interest of students and to bring transparency to the examination system, it has been decided to publish the OMR sheets of the third semester online. With this groundbreaking step, students will be able to see their answer sheets right after the exam, which will give them an advance idea of their results.
New Exam Structure: Third and Fourth Semesters
This year’s Higher Secondary Examination is divided into two semesters. The entire examination in the third semester will be in the MCQ format, and answers will have to be given on OMR sheets. On the other hand, the fourth-semester examination will consist of descriptive or long-answer questions. Students need to start preparing from now to adapt to this new system.
New Decision Regarding OMR Sheet
The President of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Chiranjib Bhattacharya, has announced that after the completion of the third-semester examination, the students’ OMR sheets will be scanned and uploaded to the council’s official website. As a result, students will be able to see their scanned OMR sheets even before the results are published.
Benefits for Students
Students will get several benefits from this new system:
- Transparency: Transparency in the examination system will increase, and there will be no confusion among the students.
- Performance Assessment: Students will be able to assess their own performance. They will be able to see in detail which questions they answered correctly and which they got wrong.
- Idea About Results: Students will get a clear idea about their potential marks even before the results are published.
What to Do for Preparation?
Since the third-semester examination will be entirely MCQ-based, students have been advised to read their textbooks very thoroughly. If the minute details of each chapter are well understood, it will be easier to answer the MCQ questions. Students have been encouraged to share their opinions on this new method and to stay tuned for future updates from the council.
Time will tell how much the students will benefit from this new initiative. However, this effort by the council is undoubtedly commendable and will help boost the students’ confidence.
