Landless Labourer Scheme: West Bengal Govt Announces Rs 4000 Aid for Landless Labourers, Check Details

Landless Labourer Scheme: The West Bengal government has introduced a significant welfare initiative targeting the landless agricultural labourers of the state. Building on the success of the ‘Krishak Bandhu’ scheme, this new directive aims to provide financial stability to those who toil on others’ land but possess no agricultural land of their own. Eligible beneficiaries will receive an annual financial aid of Rs 4,000.

Financial Benefits Explained

This scheme is designed to support the most marginalized section of the agricultural community.

  • Total Amount: Beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 4,000 per annum.
  • Disbursement Mode: The amount will be credited directly to the bank account in two installments of Rs 2,000 each throughout the year.

To ensure the benefit reaches the right people, specific eligibility norms have been set:

  • The applicant must be a landless agricultural labourer (Khet Majur) working on land owned by others.
  • The applicant must not own any agricultural land in their name.
