Yuvashathi Online: West Bengal Yuvashathi Scheme Online Application Time Limit and New Rules Explained

Yuvashathi Scheme: The West Bengal government has introduced a significant welfare initiative titled ‘Yuvashathi’ specifically designed to provide financial support to the unemployed youth of the state. While applications are being accepted through both offline and online modes, the administration has recently implemented a crucial change regarding the online application window that every aspirant must be aware of. This step has been taken by Nabanna (State Secretariat) primarily to manage the pressure on offline submission centers.

Strict Time Window for Online Applications

According to the new guidelines issued by the state government, the online portal for the ‘Yuvashathi’ scheme will no longer be accessible 24/7. To streamline the process, the government has restricted the operational hours of the portal. Applicants can now submit their forms online only between 7 PM and 9 PM daily. This two-hour window has been introduced specifically to reduce the excessive load and crowd pressure associated with offline application submissions.

Financial Benefits and Tenure

The core objective of this scheme is to assist unemployed young men and women. Under the ‘Yuvashathi’ scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive a monthly financial allowance of ₹1500. This financial aid will continue until the beneficiary secures employment. However, there is a maximum cap on the duration; the assistance will be provided for a maximum period of five years or until employment is found, whichever is earlier. The disbursement of this allowance is scheduled to be effective from April 1st.

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective applicants must meet specific criteria to be eligible for this scheme:

  • Age Limit: The applicant must be between 21 and 40 years of age.
  • Educational Qualification: The minimum educational qualification required to apply for this benefit is passing the Madhyamik (10th Standard) examination.

Application Process and Deadline

To apply, candidates need to visit the designated portal and enter their mobile number. Subsequently, an OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the registered mobile number, which is required to initiate the application process. As per the state government’s notification, application forms will be accepted until February 26. In case of any technical issues during the application, candidates are advised to carefully read the portal guidelines or contact the specific helpdesk numbers provided.

It is worth noting that MoS Finance Chandrima Bhattacharya announced this ‘Yuvashathi’ scheme for unemployed youth during the state’s interim budget presentation on February 5.
