- Increment Logic Update: The eligibility criteria for the annual July increment has been revised:
- New Joiners: Employees joining between January 1st and June 30th (inclusive) will now receive their first annual increment in July of the following year.
- Promotions/Pay Revisions: If a promotion or pay revision is effective between January 1st and June 30th (inclusive), the next annual increment on the revised pay will be due in July of the following year.
Important Notes:
1. This calculator provides an estimation. Basic Pay is rounded up to the nearest ₹10 at each stage (initial, promotion). Annual increment is calculated as CEILING(ROUNDDOWN(BP*1.03,0),10).
2. A standard annual increment of 3% on Basic Pay (calculated as per specific rounding rule) is applied each year in July, subject to eligibility based on joining/promotion date (see 'What's New' for recent changes to eligibility).
3. If promotion/revision dates are entered, the new basic pay is used from that month, and subsequent annual increments apply to this revised basic pay.
4. The DA difference percentages used are derived from the provided chart data for ROPA 2009 period (01/04/2008 to 31/12/2019).
5. For precise figures and official confirmation, please consult with your concerned department or official notifications.
Court Directive and Deadline
As per the latest order delivered by the bench comprising Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, the West Bengal government must clear 25% of the total accumulated DA arrears. The court has set a strict deadline of March 31 for this disbursement. While the legal struggle for the full DA entitlement continues, this interim order serves as a crucial financial cushion for employees and pensioners right before the new fiscal year begins.
Financial Impact on the State
To comply with this judicial order, the state exchequer is expected to witness a significant outflow of funds. Reports suggest that the government will disburse approximately ₹10,000 crore to meet this March 31 deadline. This move guarantees that a part of the pending dues will be credited to salary accounts very soon.
