Krishak Bandhu Money Started Crediting to Bank! Big Update on Payment Status and Amount
Krishak Bandhu: There is excellent news for lakhs of farmers across West Bengal. The disbursement of funds for the Rabi season under the state government’s highly popular ‘Krishak Bandhu’ scheme has officially begun crediting directly into farmers’ bank accounts. The process was formally inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, on January 8, 2026. Following the announcement, money is being transferred to farmers in various districts in a phased manner.
As of today, January 9, 2026, reports confirm that farmers in several districts, including West Medinipur, have started receiving the financial aid. This initiative aims to financially support farmers during the crucial Rabi crop cultivation season.
Proof of Payment and Bank Transactions
Many beneficiaries have already received SMS notifications regarding the credit of funds. The money is being deposited into various nationalized and rural banks, including the State Bank of India (SBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB). To verify whether the credited amount is indeed from the Krishak Bandhu scheme, farmers can check their bank passbooks or transaction history.
Typically, the transaction narration or description will contain specific codes or abbreviations indicating the source. Look for terms such as:
- WBSC
- WBKB (West Bengal Krishak Bandhu)
- R (Indicating Rabi Season)
If these references appear in your statement, you can be assured that the amount has been sent by the State Agriculture Department.
Payment Amount Based on Land Size
Under the Krishak Bandhu scheme, the grant amount is not uniform for all farmers; it is determined based on the size of the cultivable land. The payment structure as per state government rules is detailed below:
| Land Type & Size | Amount Received (Per Installment) |
|---|---|
| Minimum Land (Small holdings) | ₹2,000 |
| Medium Land (41 – 99 Decimals) | Proportional to land size (e.g., ₹2,950) |
| Maximum Land (1 Acre or more) | ₹5,000 |
Essentially, farmers with minimal landholdings receive a minimum of ₹2,000, while those with one acre or more receive the maximum of ₹5,000 per installment. Farmers with land sizes in between receive amounts calculated on a pro-rata basis.
What to Do If You Haven’t Received the Money?
You might notice that while a neighbor or another farmer in your village has received the money, your account has not yet been credited. There is no need to panic or feel disheartened. Similar to PM Kisan and other government schemes, Krishak Bandhu funds are released in lots or batches.
Money is not deposited into all beneficiaries’ accounts on the same day. Depending on banking servers and district-wise distribution processes, it may take anywhere from 1 to 15 days for the transaction to complete. Some may receive it within 2 days, while others might have to wait 10-15 days. Therefore, if your application status is valid, please wait patiently; your due amount will arrive in your bank account very soon.
