Marks Increasing in TET Wrong Question Case? Get the Latest Update from Calcutta High Court

Wrong Question Case: Finally, there is a ray of hope in the TET wrong question case. The recent hearing at the Calcutta High Court has brought forward some crucial information that could be good news for the candidates. There is a strong possibility of marks being increased for several incorrect questions in the exam. Let’s delve into the details of the case.

Latest Status of the Case

The case was heard on June 20, 2025, in the court of the Honorable Justice Soumen Sen at the Calcutta High Court. The case was listed as serial number one, with the MAT number 917 of 2024. According to court sources, the expert committee of the Primary Education Board has not yet been able to find a solution for several questions. In this situation, a third expert is being consulted. The court has directed the board to submit the resolution papers and the opinions of the expert committee directly to the court at the next hearing. The next hearing for this case is scheduled for June 27, 2025.

Role of the Primary Education Board

The Primary Education Board has informed the court that its subject matter experts have failed to find answers to some of the questions. As a result, the opinion of a third expert has become crucial for the resolution of the case. Legal experts believe that this admission by the board could be in favor of the candidates. It has been reported on behalf of the board that there is an issue with a total of 7 questions. Candidates may receive extra marks for these questions.

Which Subjects Have Issues?

The complexity has primarily arisen from pedagogy-related questions in two subjects – Second Language (English) and Mathematics. Some questions in these two subjects were so confusing that even the experts could not agree on the correct answers. This is causing a delay in the case and increasing anxiety among the candidates.

Possibility of Marks Increase

According to the information provided by the board, since 7 questions are either wrong or confusing, the possibility of an increase in marks for the candidates is high. Although it is not yet certain if a full 7 marks will be awarded, it is suggested that all petitioners in the case could see an increase of at least 4 to 5 marks. If this is implemented, many candidates will be able to meet the eligibility criteria and their job opportunities will increase.

Overall, the TET wrong question case has now reached a new turning point. The candidates are now looking forward to the next hearing, where a final decision is expected.
