The highly anticipated 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has been officially released today, March 13, 2026. Millions of eligible farmers have started receiving this crucial financial support directly into their bank accounts.

Key Highlights of the 22nd Installment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the fund transfer during a grand event organized in Guwahati, Assam. Through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, an amount of Rs 2,000 is being credited to over 9.32 crore registered farmers. For this specific tranche, the central government has disbursed a massive sum of Rs 18,640 crore. Alongside the financial release, the Prime Minister also launched several key development and public infrastructure projects tailored to boost the overall growth of Assam.

Total Disbursements and Past Records

Under the PM-KISAN initiative, the government ensures an annual income support of Rs 6,000 to eligible farmers, which is carefully distributed in three equal installments.

• With today’s release, the total funds transferred since the scheme’s inception have crossed the historic milestone of Rs 4.27 lakh crore.
• For context, the 21st installment was disbursed in November 2025 from Coimbatore, benefiting over 90 million farmers with a total payout exceeding Rs 18,000 crore.
• Prior to that, the 20th tranche in August 2025 reached approximately 98 million farmers, including a significant 24 million women beneficiaries.

Double Benefit for Maharashtra Farmers

While over 90 lakh farmers from Maharashtra are actively receiving their Rs 2,000 today, reports indicate an additional financial windfall. The state government is highly likely to release the pending funds under the Namo Shetkari Mahasamman Nidhi scheme simultaneously, potentially allowing these farmers to receive a combined amount of Rs 4,000 in a single go.

How to Check Your Name in the Beneficiary List

Due to stricter digital verifications and mandatory e-KYC processes, millions of ineligible entries have been successfully filtered out recently. To verify your payment status and ensure your name is on the list, follow these simple steps:

• Visit the official PM-KISAN portal at pmkisan.gov.in.
• Click on the Beneficiary List option prominently available on the homepage.
• Select your respective State, District, and Tehsil.
• Choose your Block and Village from the dropdown menu.
• Finally, click on Get Report to view the updated list and confirm your payment status.
