WBBSE Appointment: Finally, Board Issuing Appointment Letters for 166 Teacher Posts on Supreme Court Order, See When and Where to Go
WBBSE Appointment: The long wait is finally coming to an end for 166 job aspirants in the state. Following a landmark directive from the Supreme Court, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has decided to distribute appointment letters to these candidates. In this regard, the Board issued a detailed notification (Memo No: 311/Sec/Appt-Cell-B/25) on 1st November 2025. This is a significant step in the School Service Commission recruitment case, bringing a ray of hope into the lives of many candidates.
The notification has published a complete list of 166 candidates and instructed them to collect their appointment letters from the Board’s office on the specified date.
Case Background and Supreme Court’s Directive
This move by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is a direct result of a judgment by the Supreme Court of India. The notification clearly states that this appointment process is being conducted based on the order in the Special Leave Petition (Civil) No. 9586 of 2024.
The case was titled Baisakhi Bhattacharya (Chattopadhyay) vs State of West Bengal & Others. In light of this case, the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) recommended a total of 166 candidates for teaching posts (ATGRAD and ATPG). Based on that recommendation, the Board of Secondary Education is now arranging for the distribution of appointment letters.
