Swasthya Sathi Card: How to Apply Online for the Swasthya Sathi Card? Learn the New Process

Swasthya Sathi Card: The old method is discontinued, and from 2025, the new process for applying online for the Swasthya Sathi card has begun. The Swasthya Sathi card is a health insurance scheme from the Government of West Bengal, through which each family receives a medical claim benefit of up to five lakh rupees per year. With this card, you can get free treatment at various government and private hospitals. In this post, we will discuss the new online application process for the Swasthya Sathi card in detail.

New Method for Applying for the Swasthya Sathi Card:

From 2025, the application process for the Swasthya Sathi card has been made completely online. The old offline method will no longer work. The new procedure is discussed step-by-step below:

• Go to the Official Website: First, you need to open your preferred browser and search for “Swasthya Sathi card” on Google. From the search results, click on the official website: swasthyasathi.gov.in.
• Navigate to the Online Application: On the website’s homepage, click on “Apply Online” and then select the “Online Application for Swasthya Sathi Card” option.
• Beneficiary Registration: In the new process, you must first register as a beneficiary. The registration should start with the female head of the household.
• Fill in the Form:
  • First, select your district, block/municipality, Gram Panchayat, and village.
  • Next, enter the beneficiary’s name and select “Self” if not associated with any specific department.
  • Enter the name of the Head of the Family (father or husband).
  • Select the beneficiary’s age, gender, minority status (yes/no), and caste.
  • Provide the ration card number, which is mandatory.
  • Enter the Aadhaar number and mobile number.
  • Select marital status and enter the house number if you are a resident of an urban area.
  • Enter your full residential address and pin code.
  • Select your employment status.
• Upload Documents: Upload a PDF copy of your Aadhaar card.
• Add Family Members: Click on the “Add Member” option to include other family members. Fill in their details (name, age, gender, caste, ration card number, Aadhaar number, mobile number, and marital status) and upload a PDF copy of their Aadhaar card.
• Verification and Submission: After adding all members, click “Verify.” An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click “Validate.”
• Confirmation: Upon successful submission, you will receive a reference number that will be useful for tracking your application status in the future. This information will also be sent to your registered mobile number via SMS.

After the application process is completed, you will be contacted by phone or SMS from the block or nearest Panchayat office for photo capture. Your Swasthya Sathi card will be generated after your photo is taken.
