Krishak Bandhu Scheme for Landless Farmers Application Process and Benefits

Krishak Bandhu Landless: The agrarian economy of West Bengal relies heavily on the contribution of agricultural laborers. Recognizing this, the State Government has expanded its support system beyond just land-owning farmers. Now, individuals who do not own any cultivable land—specifically landless farmers and agricultural laborers—are eligible to receive financial benefits under the ‘Krishak Bandhu’ scheme. Through this initiative, eligible beneficiaries can receive financial assistance of ₹4,000 annually. The application process is currently active at various ‘Duare Sarkar’ camps across the state.

Where to Get the Form and How to Apply

Unlike many other schemes, the application process for landless farmers is strictly offline. Applicants cannot apply through a website or portal.

  • Source of Form: You must collect the original application form from a Duare Sarkar camp or a designated government center.
  • Important: Only forms with an official stamp and registration number are accepted. Do not submit a photocopy (Xerox) or a printout downloaded from the internet, as these will be rejected immediately.

Step-by-Step Guide to Filling the Form

Accuracy is key to ensuring that the financial aid reaches your bank account without delay. The form is divided into three main sections and must be filled out using Block Letters (Capital Letters) in English.

1. Personal and Family Details

The applicant must provide their full name and complete residential address, including village, block, police station, and pin code.

  • Family Info: Mention the father’s name or, for married women, the husband’s name.
  • Demographics: Calculate and enter your age based on the specific cut-off date mentioned in the form (e.g., 01-04-2026). Select your gender and caste correctly. If you do not have a caste certificate, apply under the ‘General’ category.

2. Banking and Contact Information

Since the benefit is transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), banking details must be error-free.

  • Bank Details: Clearly write the Bank Name, Branch Name, Account Number, and IFSC Code exactly as they appear on the passbook.
  • Mobile & Aadhaar: Provide a mobile number that is linked to your bank account and Aadhaar card.
  • Nominee: Fill in the nominee’s details (Name, Relationship, Age). This ensures that the financial benefit can be claimed by a family member in case of the applicant’s demise.

3. Self-Declaration (Landless Status)

This is a critical part of the application for those without land.

  • The applicant must declare that they do not own any cultivable land and are entirely dependent on working on others’ land for their livelihood.
  • Disclosure of other government benefits (like Lakshmir Bhandar) must be made in the designated section.

4. Aadhaar Consent and Documents

The final section involves providing consent for Aadhaar authentication to facilitate the fund transfer. Once the form is filled, sign or put a thumb impression at the specified places. Attach self-attested photocopies of the following documents:

  • Voter ID Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank Passbook (First page with photo) or a Cancelled Cheque.

After submission, the receiving officer will tear off and return the acknowledgement receipt at the bottom of the form. Keep this safely for future reference.
