ECINET Portal: All Voter Card Services Now on One Portal! Election Commission’s New Website Launched

ECINET Portal: The Election Commission has launched a new portal named ECINET. Through this portal, all tasks related to the voter card can now be done more easily. From applying for a new voter card to correcting errors in the old one, everything is now under one umbrella. In this article, we will discuss the various benefits and usage methods of the ECINET portal in detail.
Main Features of the ECINET Portal:
- New Voter Registration: New voters can apply to register their names through Form 6.
- Information Correction: To correct any kind of error in the voter card, such as name, address, date of birth, etc., Form 8 needs to be filled out.
- Voter Card Cancellation: If someone has two voter cards or needs to cancel the card for any other reason, it can be done using Form 7.
- Application Status Check: After applying for a new card or correction, a reference number is given. The current status of the application can be tracked using that number.
- Search Name in Voter List: One can find their name in the voter list using the EPIC number, personal details (name, father’s name, gender, date of birth), or the linked phone number.
- E-Voter Card Download: The facility to easily download one’s e-voter card is available from the portal.
- Filing a Complaint: There is a special provision in this portal for lodging any complaint related to the voter card.
How to use the ECINET Portal?
Using this portal is very easy. By searching for “ECINET” on Google, the link “ECI Unified Portal” will be found. By clicking there and going to the “Voter Service” option, all the services will be visible.
New Portal, but Old Functionality:
An important point has been highlighted. Although the design of the ECINET portal is new, its internal functionality and processes are largely the same as the old portal. That is, when a user clicks to fill out a form, they are redirected to the old portal. The same procedure is followed for downloading, tracking, or corrections. A mobile version of it has also been launched, which will be more convenient for users.
This new initiative by the Election Commission is undoubtedly commendable. It is hoped that through the ECINET portal, voter-related services will become more integrated and user-friendly.
