Lakshmir Bhandar: With Durga Puja, the grandest festival for Bengalis, just around the corner, the state government has brought great news for its employees, pensioners, and beneficiaries of various government schemes. There is always public curiosity about when salaries will be credited, pensions will be disbursed, or when funds from schemes like Lakshmir Bhandar and Jai Bangla will arrive. Putting an end to all speculation, the Finance Department of the Government of West Bengal has issued an official notification clearly stating all the dates.
The notification issued from Nabanna states that state government offices will remain closed from September 26th to October 7th, 2025, for the festive season. To ensure that the public does not face any financial hardship during this long holiday period, the state government has decided to disburse salaries, pensions, and other financial assistance in advance.
When Will Salaries and Wages Be Paid?
According to the notification, all state government employees, staff of government-aided institutions, and others who receive salary, wages, honorarium, or stipend from the state government will receive their dues for September 2025 before the festival holidays begin.
- Date for Salaries and Other Allowances: Salary, wages, honorarium, etc., for the month of September will be paid on September 24th & 25th, 2025.
This decision will allow lakhs of government employees and their families to plan their Puja shopping and other arrangements with ease.
Lakshmir Bhandar and Other Scheme Funds
The ‘Lakshmir Bhandar’ scheme is a cornerstone of financial security for women in the state. Crores of women eagerly await the monthly assistance from this scheme. There was particular interest in when this money would be credited during the Puja month. The notification from Nabanna has answered that question.
- Lakshmir Bhandar and Jai Bangla: Financial assistance under schemes like Jai Bangla and Lakshmir Bhandar for September 2025 will be credited directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts via DBT on October 1st, 2025.
When Will Retirees Receive Their Pension?
The state government has also made arrangements for retired government employees. It has been announced that their monthly pension will also be disbursed on time.
- Date for Pension: Pension for the month of September 2025 will be disbursed on October 1st, 2025.
The Finance Department has instructed all treasuries and concerned departments to complete the bill submission process well in advance so that all payments can be made by the specified dates.
