The entire eclipse will last for about 3 hours and 28 minutes. The total phase will last for approximately 82 minutes, making it a long-duration lunar eclipse. During this time, the Moon will be completely covered by the Earth’s shadow and will glow with a coppery-red hue, which is known as the ‘Blood Moon’.

When Will the Sutak Period Begin?

According to the Hindu calendar, the Sutak period begins 9 hours before the lunar eclipse. Accordingly, the Sutak period will start at 12:57 PM on September 7 and will end after the eclipse is over. During this time, it is generally advised to follow certain rules, such as refraining from eating and not performing religious rituals. However, these rules are relaxed for children, the elderly, and the sick.

How to Watch This Lunar Eclipse?
