Yuva Sathi Prakalpa: Avoid These Common Mistakes to Ensure Approval of Application

Yuva Sathi Prakalpa Application: The Yuvasathi scheme is a flagship initiative by the West Bengal government aimed at supporting the unemployed youth of the state. However, a significant number of applications face rejection every year due to minor avoidable errors during the form-filling process. Whether applying online or offline at camps like Duare Sarkar, adhering to strict guidelines is crucial to ensure your application is accepted.

Here is a comprehensive guide on the critical mistakes to avoid and the correct procedures to follow.

Critical Mistake regarding Occupation

One of the most common reasons for rejection is the entry under ‘Occupation’. Applicants often identify themselves as ‘Students’. It is vital to remember that this scheme is designed for the unemployed. Therefore, you must strictly write ‘Unemployed’ in the occupation column. Writing ‘Student’ may lead to immediate disqualification.

Similarly, for educational qualifications, do not list a degree you are currently pursuing. You should only list the highest qualification for which you hold a passing certificate. For instance, if you are a second-year college student, your highest qualification on the form should be ‘Higher Secondary’ (10+2).

Identity and Age Calculation Rules

  • Name Match: Your name and surname on the application must exactly match your Madhyamik (10th Standard) Admit Card. This rule applies strictly to married women as well; do not use your husband’s surname if it differs from your admit card.
  • Age Calculation: According to the guidelines, age should not be calculated based on the date of application submission. Instead, calculate your age as of 1st April 2026. You must be at least 21 years old by this date. Enter only the number of years, excluding months and days.

Photo, Signature, and Documents

  • Cross Signature: Simply pasting a photograph is not enough. You must sign across the photograph (partly on the photo and partly on the paper) or on the white margin of the photo. An unsigned photo is considered a major error.
  • Caste Declaration: Do not tick SC, ST, or OBC options unless you possess a valid caste certificate. If you do not have the physical certificate, apply as a ‘General’ candidate to avoid verification issues later.

Banking and Submission Details

Ensure the mobile number provided is linked to your bank account. Furthermore, the bank account details filled in the form must be seeded with Aadhaar and enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

  • Other Schemes: If you are receiving benefits from other schemes like Lakshmir Bhandar or widow pensions, disclose this information honestly. Hiding facts can lead to rejection upon data verification.
  • Receipt: After submitting the form along with self-attested photocopies of all documents, ensure you receive an acknowledgement slip. Check that the ‘Duare Sarkar Registration Number’ is clearly mentioned on this receipt for future status tracking.
