Sir/Madam,
In compliance to Govt. order no. 607-SED(Admin.)/2026, dated 14.05.2026 (copy enclosed), issued by the Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of West Bengal, School Education Department. Administrative Branch, Bikash Bhavan, Salt Lake, singing of Vande Mataram during morning assembly prayers, prior to the commencement of classes is hereby made mandatory in all the Govt. Aided/Sponsored, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Higher Secondary Educational institutions across the state of West Bengal, suspending all previous orders, with immediate effect.

ORDER
It is hereby ordered that in supersession of all previous orders and practices, singing of Vande Mataram during assembly prayers, prior to the commencement of classes is hereby made mandatory in all schools under School Education Department across the state of West Bengal, with immediate effect.
This order is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
