Earlier total 16 number of disease/illness was included in the Clause 7(1) for reimbursement for OPD treatment. Now, the Medical Cell of Finance Department of West Bengal Government is included COVID-19 Disease/Illness in the OPD list under West Bengal Health Scheme which is reimbursable.

Summery: | 1) The governor is pleased to enlist “COVID-19” as 17th disease/illness in the OPD list under Clause 7(1) of WBHS. 2) When the test done through RT-PCR/TRUNAT/CBNAAT method and comes positive all the cost of OPD treatment is reimbursable as per rule of WBHS. 3) When the result comes negative, only cost of the COVID test is reimbursable. 4) PBSF is not eligible for reimbursement. |
