MEMORANDUM

The beneficiaries of the West Bengal Health Scheme (WBHS) are presently entitled to cashless In-Patient Department (IPD) treatment in private empanelled hospitals within the State, subject to a maximum limit of ₹2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh) per hospitalisation, in terms of Finance Department Memorandum No. 92-F(MED)WB, dated 07.06.2023.

The approved rates under the WBHS have since been revised with effect from 01.09.2026 vide Finance Department Notification No. 70-F(MED)WB, dated 14.08.2026. In view of the said revision and upon consideration of all relevant aspects, the Governor is pleased to enhance the existing cashless limit for each hospitalisation in private empanelled hospitals within the State from ₹2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh) to ₹5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakh).

The revised cashless limit of ₹5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakh) per hospitalisation shall be applicable to all IPD treatments where the date of admission in a private empanelled hospital within the State is on or after 01.10.2026.

The aforesaid limit shall be applicable to all employees and pensioners enrolled under the West Bengal Health Scheme, as well as their eligible beneficiaries, subject to the terms and conditions of the Scheme.

Any existing order or memorandum prescribing the cashless limit for IPD treatment under the West Bengal Health Scheme shall stand modified to the extent of the enhancement made herein.

All other terms and conditions governing cashless treatment under the West Bengal Health Scheme shall remain unchanged.
