Digital Life Certificate: A very important notification has been issued for Central Government pensioners. The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoP&PW) has provided some essential advice regarding cyber security for the submission of Digital Life Certificate (DLC) 4.0. The “Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0” is set to launch nationwide from 1st November 2025 to 30th November 2025, with the primary goal of ensuring that pensioners can flawlessly submit their annual life certificates.
The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoP&PW) has made the process of submitting life certificates easier, faster, and more accessible for pensioners. This can be done through various user-friendly platforms like Face Authentication Technology, biometric devices, mobile applications, and doorstep services. However, with the increased use of digital technology in pension-related services, it has become imperative for all pensioners to be aware of basic cyber security measures to prevent fraud, identity theft, or unauthorized access to sensitive personal and financial information.
Precautions to Follow While Submitting Digital Life Certificate
As per the Office Memorandum dated 31.10.2025 issued by the government, all pensioners are advised to follow the precautions below while using any digital technology for pension-related services:
1. Use Only Authorized Digital Platforms:
- Submit your Digital Life Certificate only via the official Jeevan Pramaan Portal (https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in), the Post Office app, or the Aadhaar Face RD Application.
- Avoid sharing your details with unauthorized agents or unverified applications.
2. Secure Your Aadhaar Number and Pension-related Data:
- Do not share your Aadhaar number, OTPs, bank account details, Pension Payment Order (PPO) number, or mobile number with unknown persons.
3. Beware of Fraud Calls:
- Remember, government agencies will never ask for your password, OTP, or bank PIN over the phone or via email.
- Always verify emails or messages claiming to be from government sources.
4. Update Devices and Use a Secured Internet System:
- Ensure that your mobile phones and computers are updated with the latest security patches and antivirus software.
- Use only secure Wi-Fi or mobile networks while submitting the annual life certificate.
5. Report Suspicious Activity:
- In case of suspected fraud or misuse of your information, immediately report it to your bank or the Cyber Crime portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in.
These guidelines are crucial for ensuring the financial security of all Central Government pensioners. This notification has been issued with the approval of the competent authority.
