PM e-VIDYA Registration: Every teacher handling Classes 1 to 12 in West Bengal now has to enrol on the PM e-VIDYA mobile app. It isn’t optional. And each district and SI office must submit a consolidated teacher registration report by 15 September 2026.
The programme runs under the Ministry of Education’s Department of School Education and Literacy, with technical support from NCERT. Implementation across West Bengal has been stepped up recently.

Who Has to Register?
- Teachers at primary, upper primary, secondary and higher secondary levels, covering Class 1 to Class 12
- Students and parents, who can join by selecting their own role
- Private tutors and others, under the ‘Others’ category
How Do You Download the App?
- Open Google Play Store on your phone.
- Search for “PM eVidya” or “PM e-VIDYA”.
- Pick the official app carrying the NCERT logo and tap ‘Install’.
- Open the app once the download finishes.
Similar-sounding apps do exist on the Play Store. One quick look at the publisher name, and you save yourself a reinstall later.
Steps to Complete Your Profile
- The welcome screen shows learning journey details and terms of use. Tap ‘Continue’ at the bottom.
- Select your User Role from Teacher, Student, Parent or Others. School teachers must choose ‘Teacher’.
- Finish with ‘Continue with Google’ or by entering the required details, then complete the profile.
Picking the wrong role costs you time later. So pause at that dropdown.
Keep These Ready Before You Start
- An active Gmail ID, preferably personal rather than the school’s common ID
- The mobile number where the OTP will arrive
- School name and district details
- The classes and subjects you teach

Common Problems
- OTP not arriving: Wait two minutes on a weak network, then tap ‘Resend’.
- Profile won’t save: Update the app from the Play Store.
- Wrong role selected: Try editing from the profile section, or log out and set up the profile again.

Instructions have reached schools through the SI offices. If a teacher runs into trouble while registering, the route is to inform the Head Teacher first and then the concerned SI office.
