PM Kisan Status: Administrative preparations have begun for releasing the 24th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme. Many beneficiaries are noticing a new change in their status on the official PM Kisan portal, raising fresh hopes among farmers about the next installment.

What Is the Portal Status Showing?
When checking their status on pmkisan.gov.in, many farmers are now seeing the message “Waiting for Approval by State”. This means the state government is currently verifying and approving the beneficiary list. Once the state completes its approval, the next steps will be RFT signing and payment processing.
What Stages Does the Payment Go Through?
- Waiting for Approval by State: The beneficiary’s details are being verified at the state level.
- RFT Signed by State: The state has approved the list and sent a Request for Transfer to the Centre.
- FTO Processed: A Fund Transfer Order has been generated at the central level.
- Payment Credited: The money has been deposited directly into the bank account through DBT.
When Could the 24th Installment Be Credited?
Eligible farmers under the PM Kisan scheme receive ₹6,000 a year. The amount is paid in three installments of ₹2,000 each, covering the April–July, August–November and December–March periods. The Prime Minister released the 23rd installment on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar in Hooghly, West Bengal. The process for the August–November period installment is now under way.
According to available information, there has been no official announcement of a release in September. However, there is a possibility that ₹2,000 will be credited to farmers’ bank accounts in October. The Central Government will formally announce the exact date later.
Make Sure These Three Things Are in Order
- Land Seeding: Your land records must be linked on the portal. The status must show “Yes”.
- e-KYC: Your Aadhaar-based e-KYC must be complete.
- Aadhaar Bank Account Seeding: Your bank account must be linked with Aadhaar and enabled for DBT.
If any of these three shows “No”, your installment may be held up. It is wise to fix any problem while the state approval process is still going on.
How to Check Your PM Kisan Status
- Visit the pmkisan.gov.in website.
- Click on the “Know Your Status” option under the “Farmers Corner” section.
- Enter your registration number. If you do not remember it, use the “Know your registration number” option to find it with your mobile or Aadhaar number.
- Enter the captcha and OTP, then click “Get Data”.
- Your eligibility status and payment details will appear on the screen.
What to Do If There Is a Problem
- If e-KYC is pending: Complete it through OTP on the portal, through biometrics at your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC), or through face authentication on the PM-Kisan mobile app.
- If Aadhaar is not linked to your bank account: Visit your bank branch to get Aadhaar seeding and DBT activated, or open an account with India Post Payments Bank.
- If Land Seeding shows “No”: Contact your local agriculture department or block office with your land documents.

Beware of phone calls, SMS messages or fake links promising to get your installment released. Do not share your OTP or bank details with anyone.
