Who will receive these DA arrears?
Approximately 8 lakh working employees of the West Bengal government will receive these DA arrears. This includes teachers, and employees of Panchayats, Municipalities, Municipal Corporations, and other government-sponsored and autonomous bodies. Besides, pensioners and family pensioners will also come under this benefit. It is expected that about 10 lakh people in total will be benefited.
An important point is that all employees or pensioners who were employed or received pensions between April 1, 2008, and December 31, 2019, will be considered eligible to receive these DA arrears. However, employees who joined service after 2019 and are not under ROPA 2009 will not be eligible for these arrears.
For how many days are the arrears and the calculation:
According to the information, the DA arrears will be calculated for a total of 141 months, from April 1, 2008, to December 31, 2019. This includes 9 months from April to December 2008 and 11 years (i.e., 132 months) from 2009 to 2019. It is clear from this calculation that eligible individuals are going to receive their due arrears for a significant period.
